Are you in favor of a taste explosion? And you love experimenting with fruits and herbs? Well, most likely you already tried the combination of strawberries and mint or tangerine with cinnamon… So what do you think about fruity, fresh oranges with a flavor of vanilla and thyme on a crunchy dough? It’s really worth to try it 🙂
Herewith my recipe in 3 easy steps:
- For the dough you just need 200g flour, 125g butter (soft or already melted), 50g sugar, 1 egg and a bit of salt. Mix it, place it in a cake ring and put it for 10 minutes into the oven at 160ºC.
- In the meantime mix 250g curd cheese, 250g mascarpone, 50g sugar, 2 eggs, vanilla, 50g flour, a bit of vanilla syrup and some orange juice. Get the dough out of the oven and put the cream on top of it. Keep it for another 30-35 minutes in the oven. Let it cool down afterwards.
- For the orange topping, squeeze a couple of oranges until you have 500ml juice, heat it up until it boils together with some fresh thyme from you garden. Prepare 2 spoons of starch four with water and put the mixture to the orange juice. Let everything boil for another minute until it gets more viscid. Spread it on your cooled down vanilla cream, decorate it with some thyme leafs and let it rest a while in the fridge.
